Do I have to pay to search for an craftsman?
Searching for an craftsman is FREE, with no need to register. We ask that you give a few minutes of your time to let us know how it went if you use one of the craftsmen listed.
Does Leading Craftsmen pass on my information to awaiting craftsmen?
We do not believe in selling client's needs, rather they should be free to make a choice. However, we do have a ‘We Find’ service for clients who may wish to save time by requesting craftsmen who can assist to contact them.
What is and how does the ‘We Find’ search work?
A time saving and more direct search filter for clients wanting craftsmen to contact them.
Clients are required to complete some key information about their needs to filter craftsmen who can assist. The enquiry (minus the client’s contact details) is shared with the craftsmen who have agreed to respond to incoming enquiries and reply if they can help the client. The craftsman replies are then shared with the clients, along with the link to the craftsman’s profile page to make an informed choice. The client is then free to invite the craftsmen they wish to contact them.
We DO NOT agree or take part in auctioning client enquiries. We firmly believe the choice should remain the clients.
Do the craftsmen pay a commission to Leading Craftsmen for my custom?
The craftsmen don't share their fees with us.
All craftsmen are vetted and listed FREE of charge.
We like to keep it simple and transparent by charging an annual flat fee for those opting to reply to incoming enquiries via our ‘We Find’ service only.
How do you vet the craftsmen listed?
We vet all our members listed, to enable prospective clients to make a more informed choice. Those who have signed up, have agreed to be vetted, providing clients with a more transparent view of them and their services.
To be listed on Leading Craftsmen, all craftsmen must pass our vetting procedure, which includes:
- Accreditations - we request certification details and verify this
- Insurance - we require proof of Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII). All members must supply this information for our verification. Craftsmen who are covered by network insurance are required to certify this information.
- Company registration checks - we verify a company is registered to trade and verify details held.
- Monitoring - craftsmen agree to be continuously monitored, via their client's feedback. This determines their ongoing listing on Leading Craftsmen.
Does Leading Craftsmen guarantee the services provided by the craftsman
Members have agreed to be vetted and monitored by Leading Craftsmen; however, they are individual businesses. We therefore are unable to guarantee the services they provide. For some who may be regulated, we are happy to share feedback information with the regulator.
If, in the unlikely event the service received is not to your satisfactory, then please share the experience on your feedback to us, which will be available for others to see. Leading Craftsmen welcomes feedback from clients, as this is the lifeblood of the business and determines whether an invitation to be listed is extended to an craftsman or not.
